The Ups & Downs of Freelancing

If you’re thinking of going into freelancing for the long term, this blog post is for you. We will look at the things you need to know and will come across as a freelancer.

Freelancing has skyrocketed since the pandemic hit, Upwork stock has shot up in value indicating the company is generating more revenue. More jobs are becoming available on freelancer markets, and so the competition has become stiff. On average, you will see yourself sending out 8 proposals in order to secure one job.

In order to have a consistent income through freelancing, you need to have lo term clients that give you work consistently. In order to get this type of client, you need to have a good track record and show them that you’re able to communicate well and do their tasks according to their requirements within a deadline that has been agreed upon.

In order to have a food freelancing career, I suggest you do the following

  • Have multiple clients. Relying solely on one client can result in a low monthly income.
  • Consider another source of income that will at least cover your living expenses and internet bill.
  • Have backup plans in place. These can include having a backup internet connection, working machine
